Parents and kids have saved money on children’s toys and clothing, including last-minute Back to School purchases, during the best Labor Day sales in Chicago September 6, 2010. Chicago shoppers printed out a secret pass and brought it to many shops on The Avenue in Oak Park for special Labor Day savings, including 20% off one item at Geppetto’s Toy Box. Toys R Us and Babies R Us were holding a sale through Monday, September 6. Download coupons and deals including Buy 1 Get One Free on all Zhu Zhu Pets add-on playsets, Buy 1 Get 1 50% off all Nickelodeon DVDs, Save $20 on Little Tikes Cozy Coupes, Save 30% on select family board games, and Save 30% on All Halloween Costumes and Apparel.
During the Pottery Barn Kids Labor Day Sale, families could save up to 75% on toys, accessories, furniture, bedding, and other items for kids and babies. Psychobaby was offering 15% off a shopper’s entire purchase on their online site through Monday with the discount code LABOR15.
With the online-only Kmart Labor Day Sale, families could save up to 25% off ride-on toys, swingsets, and WowWee toys, and up to 30% off clearance toys. They were also offering savings on learning toys, musical instruments, and My First Kenmore toys.
Labor Day sales on kids clothing include Gymboree stores have put all children’s clothing and accessories on sale with their Fill-A-Bag Sale. Families can save 30% on everything they can stuff in a Gymboree bag, including new fall styles and Back to School clothing. Note that Halloween costumes are already on display in stores if Chicago families want to prepare early for that October holiday.
Through Tuesday, September 7, The Children’s Place had marked many items of kids clothing down to $5 and was offering an additional 25% off many already reduced fall styles. Online and in select shops, Janie and Jack was offering up to 60% off their stylish baby, toddler, and children’s clothing items. The GAP websites were offering 15% off online purchases for September 6 and 10% off purchases for September 7. Old Navy stores are holding a Labor Week sale for seven days of savings. Preggers boutique (900 North Michigan Ave.) was holding a “labor” sale through Monday, offering 30% to 70% off many summer styles of maternity clothing.
